Doug flew out to Budapest, Hungary, to begin filming HELLBOY II: THE GOLDEN ARMY. Filming is expected to continue until the end of October, 2007 at the earliest. Doug will not only be reprising his role as 'Abe Sapien' (voice too!), but also creating two other characters in the film, the 'Angel of Death' and 'The Chamberlain.' Doug attended the 33rd Annual Saturn Awards at the Universal Hilton, Universal City, Los Angeles, where he was delighted to collect the award for Best International Film, Pan's Labyrinth, on behalf of Guillermo del Toro. The film collected another award, this time for Ivana Baquero for Best Performance by a Younger Actor. The film was also nominated in four other categories. Doug headed far to the South when he attended his first Antipodean conventions. First he hit Sydney, Australia, for a Q & A at the Supanova Sydney Special Event, and then he headed out to New Zealand for the Wellington Armageddon Pulp Culture Expo. |

PAN'S LABYRINTH wins THREE Oscars - Best Makeup, Best Art Direction and Best Cinematography!!!
Check out the list on the PAN'S LABYRINTH AWARDS page! It sadly missed out on wins for Best Original Score, Best Original Screenplay and Best Foreign Language Film, but was nevertheless the second biggest winner of the night (Only Martin Scorsese's The Departed took more with four wins).
CONGRATULATIONS to Guillermo, Doug, Guillermo Navarro, Eugenio Caballero, Pilar Revuelta and especially our dear friends David Martî and Montse Ribé and the gang at DDT Efectos Especiales, who won for their amazing prosthetic designs in the film, creating both El Fauno and The Pale Man. |

Yes, Doug Jones has finally been invited to the Oscars!!
Representing my latest film Pan's Labyrinth with its 6 Oscar Nominations!!! Not sure how much coverage I'll get on the red carpet pre-shows, but will most likely be seen in clips from the movie during the ceremony's nomination announcements Sunday, February 25th LIVE at 5pm Pacific, 6pm Rocky Mountain, 7pm Central, 8pm Eastern. The 79th Annual Academy Awards on ABC Network (with pre-show arrivals starting much earlier on E!, TV Guide Channel, and ABC)
